Rotate viewport - change direction of view in the layout

To know rotating or changing the direction of drawing in viewport (paper space) in autocad drawing it is very important to users, this command will not effect the original direction in model space.

Follow the following instruction to rotate a view by changing the UCS:-


1-Go to layout plan in paper space and double click to go inside,
2-Type in command line ucs.
3-Hit enter key.
4-Select first point and second point according your own direction.
5-Hit enter key.
6-Type plan in command line.
7-Hit enter key.
8-Zoom to your layout and adjust.

 Second option to rotate view port :-

  1. Double-click within the viewport whose objects you want to rotate.
  2. Make sure that the current UCS is parallel to the plane of rotation .
  3. Click View tab => Coordinates panel => World.
  4. Click View tab => Coordinates panel => Z.
  5. To rotate the view 90 degrees clockwise, enter 90. To rotate the view 90 degrees counterclockwise, enter -90.
  6. Click View menu => 3D Views => Plan View => Current UCS. The entire view rotates within the viewport. You may need to specify the scale of the viewport again.


Third to rotate a layout view using MVSETUP :-


  1. On a layout, enter MVSETUP at the Command prompt.
  2. Enter a (Align).
  3. Enter r (Rotate) to rotate the view to a specified angle or with two points.
  4. If multiple viewports are available on the layout, click the viewport with the view that you want to rotate.
  5. Specify a base point for the rotation.
  6. Specify the rotation angle or specify a second point to determine the angle of rotation.The entire view rotates within the viewport.
  7. To restore the previous UCS, enter ucs and then p (Previous).
